The World

Keywords: goal, realisation, expansion, world travel, fulfillment.
Description: The World card, regarded as the best card in the major arcana is a symbol for all that we can accomplish on our path through life, for perfection, beauty, success, and public recognition. This is where the cycle ends and begins again. Happiness and wholeness are key elements that provide a sense of physical, emotional, and spiritual well being. Signalling accomplishment and reaching one's goals the World card makes us aware that in completing this cycle we are ready to embark on a new adventure. We are prepared and preparing for another journey with higher awareness, knowing that active engagement and service is called for.
Upright Associations: Completion, perfection, recognition, honours, the end result, success, fulfillment, triumph, eternal life. Abundance, union, wellbeing.
In a negative situation this card can point to major obstacles in our path, to set backs, to loose ends we have left untied as well as lack of commitment.
Reversed Associations:  Loose ends, jealousy, failure, despair, hesitant. Feeling undeserving, fear of being disappointed. Need to remain confident and committed.

PALMAM QUI MERUIT FERAT
Which can be loosely translated from the Latin as “let whoever earns the palm bear it. ” The expression reflects the broad significance of palms, palm fronds and other branches of foliage as symbols of triumph, victory, ascension and regeneration in ancient times, and in particular may allude to the Roman custom of giving the victorious gladiator a palm branch as reward for prowess.

Description: Initially a nameless card, Death very seldom literally means death. Instead it is the image of profound transformation, the ending of one cycle, and the transition into a new state. It symbolises sudden and inevitable change, death of the old self so that the new consciousness can emerge. The experience can be saddening or painful and we might be reluctant to accept the inevitability of the ending. To accept and recognise the necessity of endings, liberates and allows for inner change, rebirth, and renewal.

Upright Associations: The completion of a phase or cycle. An abrupt change of circumstances. Transformation, making way for something new. Death or bereavement.

The negative interpretation is depression due to neglecting that a cycle has come to an end, break-up of relationships, obsession, and stagnation.

Reversed Associations: Sleep, sloth, birth. A refusal to let change happen, or a situation end. Deep depression, decay, refusal to let go, stagnation.

It usually is positioned at the beginning of the major arcana but can be either at the beginning or the end as it depicts our learning experience through life from beginning to end. The Fool signifies one's potential and abilities. Embarking on his journey toward self-knowledge, the Fool is at the same time adventurous and fearful, seemingly open to all possibilities, yet apparently unaware of the dangers along the way. Irrational impulses, foolishness, and poor judgement are some of the negative aspects of this card. At the end of his journey the Fool has learned life's lessons and is aware of his place in the world and in one with himself.

Upright Associations: New beginnings, either mental spiritual or physical, new adventures, life-cycles, and new opportunities. Leaping off into the unknown, playfulness, openness.
